World of Warcraft, the incredibly addicting MMO-RPG is coming back with yet another expansion, Cataclysm
. World of Warcraft is not just a game, it is a way of life to many PC gamers. I used to be one of them, and I can honestly say, WoW is a serious drug… It is pretty much impossible to play this game casually since you need to put in the time to acquire the best gear and extreme e-peen with your virtual character.
This time, players will be able to visit the old World Azeroth and experience new zones within, newly designed dungeons and boss encounters, introducing the Worgen and Goblin race, raising the level cap to 85 and much, much more.
According to vgachartz, Cataclysm is sitting on top of pre-order charts as of right now with 300+ thousand lead over “Disney Epic Mickey” for Wii. With two weeks to go until launch, we can predict that pre-orders will total at around 600 thousand. That is impressive considering this game is strictly on the PC platform. Two years ago, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
expansion broke many sales records, one of which was over 2.8 million copies sold in the first 24 hours. Blizzard can only hope that Cataclysm will get close to those numbers and possibly even break their old record.
If You are hardcore WoW fanatic, going to the midnight launch event is obviously a must, and if You happen to live in London, Rotterdam or Stockholm, be sure to dress up as one of WoW characters and get a chance to win an iPad.
For others, if You pre-order the expansion either digitally or in your local Gamestop, there is a special “Perk Package Bonus” which You will receive automatically. These perks include some very neat discounts for certain products, such as: EVGA GeForce video cards, Linksys routers, SteelSeries Accessories, and more. You can check out all the Perks here.
There is of course the Collector’s Edition as this is the standard of today’s video games releases. If you decide to purchase it, You will receive Exclusive Behind-The-Scenes DVD, The Cataclysm Soundtrack, Series of Art Images, World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, Exclusive In-Game Pet, and Cataclysm Mouse Pad. All of this for $79.99 The regular edition, which includes the game and nothing more is priced at $39.99.
If You are one of over 12 million WoW subscribers, the Cataclysm is a firm “Must-Buy”, however if You are looking for something to kill time in relatively cheap way, Cataclysm could also be good choice. You would then have to purchase the Original Version, the two previous expansions
and have some serious catching up to do though.
